Subject: Re: Gerard: Aulari boots

Woodham, Ontario
I have the black stops on mine too. At one point I thought I had a bent disc, but what had happened is that the nuts that hold the disc to the hub were coming loose. I have replaced close to half of the nuts with locknuts now. Will need to do the rest before next year.

The wings seem to rise up easily enough to avoid damage. My brother did hit a big stone that was mostly underground in an old fence row that severly bent one disc and broke the hub. It also broke part of the cast boot. It was one of the rows under the CCS tank, but it was almost empty. I am going to count that as a freak occurance.

Seems as long as the disc bolts are tight the boots can run tight against the disc without any problems.
