Subject: Re: Better pics of sheep

East central Iowa
I have about 6.5 acres around my lots and buildings and can rotate into 1/2 acre to 1 acre areas every 4 to 8 days and keep 60 to 70 ewes going until winter. Yes, that is orchard grass, that 1,5 acres I don't like because it is so bunchy. I do fertilze every year with left over starter and yesterday put 100 lbs/acre of urea on. I'm still learning, trying to graze smaller areas to get more efficiant use this year. Little more work but the ground grew 200+ corn in 2009. Not really pasture ground but my farm needs to have more hay and pasture in crop rotations. Keep sheep at home and most of my row crops are on the rented ground.
