NE Iowa | So basically you are applying 27-69-60 per acre. If it's mostly grass pasture I'd personally apply more N and less P. Most forage crops use 4 times as much K as P per ton of production. I only use about 125# of 46-0-0 per acre. I've got some pastures that could use some P & K but it is hard to pencil. For every $1 I spend on N for a pasture I'm guessing I get $2-$3 worth of additional forage. If I apply P & K to a grass pasture I'm not sure I would do any better then breakeven. Just my opinion but if you wanted to keep applying 250# of product per acre I'd go with 100# of 46-0-0, 50# of 18-46-0, and 100# of 0-0-60. That would give you about 55-23-60 total per acre. | |
