Depending how often you go through a stick it should be fine on the counter year round. Maybe put a 1/4 or 1/2 stick on the butter dish at a time if your concerned. We go though a stick every 3-5 days and it stays out on the counter all the time. wEE aINt ben aFFected Yit. JoE
