What size seed, #seeds/lb?? If you get into some real small seed, there are actually 2 different plates for the meters. You can compensate for some of this, if you are close to the size break, by using "milo" retainers for the brushes. Depending on brush wear, and seed size, what you have is the plates are planting doubles.
