Newdale, Manitoba, Canada | There are many different Fire Hose threads. A century ago, each manufacturer had their own "standard". When equipment was purchased for the local department, that department then adopted that standard because it would cost too much to change all of the hose and appliances at the same time. Threads start to standardize a bit when over 2 1/2", but 2 1/2" and under is a mess!
