The straw we get out of our 550 is pretty smashed up when we swath it. This does depend abit on the moisture and variety though. As good as Claas choppers are I would think that the balers would pick up more stones than straw. Why not just switch the chopper off, swath it then bale it instead of messing with mowers and rakes?
