Couldn't agree more. Having been side swiped and almost rear ended by a 18 wheeler years ago before beacons I sure wish I had one on that tractor. Light them up like Christmas trees if it helps me from getting ran over on the road.
Had the guy been a foot further to the right he would have broken the axle off the tractor or worse. More than a foot over and I probably wouldn't be here. I was lucky. But now, if the tractor has beacons they are on when we road. I make sure every flashing light and triangle is in good shape now. Too easy to get in a bad situation real quick. If they keep someone awake at night I really don't care. My life is more important than his lack of a nights beauty rest. |
