ecmn
i have seen farmers simply shorten the throttle cable to get rpms down instead of fighting with the stop screw.

many moons ago had a 4440 that a guy just bought and thought it shifted hard at wot when going into 8th gear. did some testing on the tranny and it was coming up good. one of the older mechanics saw the smoke out of the exhaust and said to dyno it. it dynoed at 200 hp. farmer did say it pulled a lot more then he was expecting it to. lol!
