They made the 4800 and 4900 at the same time, the 4900 was the vertical folding bigger model. They were made in the very late 80's and into the early 90s, I am thinking around 1995 they went to the 4300.

We never had one, we had the earlier 4600, and had no problems with trash clearance. Leveling left a lot to be desired, but it was a good old field cultivator overall. We now run an old JD 980 that we like better. We were always breaking shanks on the 4600, and haven't broke one yet on the 980.
