Northeast Missouri | We just removed a splint that had been on a calf for 5 weeks...which was too long, as the duct tape was cutting into the tendon above the hock.
Our splint was made by cutting a piect of 3" pvc pipe in half lengthwise. We wrapped rags around the leg to make it fit snuggly into the PVC, and also used some of that stretchy leg wrap like they use on horses to go around that & up over the hock, then duct taped around the pvc & wraps, plus duct taped up over the hock.
Do some Googling for "broken calf leg splint" etc., and you'll find ideas & pictures.
