Iowa | Had the same deal. Sheriff took care of it. About ten days later the bins on the farm were riddled with bullet holes, and wires were pulled out of motors, plus other vandalism. I very much doubt a coincidence. $1000 to repair wiring plus bins just patched and will never be as they were.
You have more to lose than to gain by pursuing, in my experience.
Another farm, I came over a slight knoll on the road and there was a guy kicking out his leaves into the ditch. Clean-cut guy and vehicle. More stuff was dumped about a quarter mile down the road. I told him to pick it ALL up. He protested, saying the other stuff wasn't his. I wrote down his license plate number, I told him he could either remove ALL of it yet that day or he could deal with the sheriff. He whined and whined, said that would be several loads and it wasn't all his, but when I checked the next day it was ALL cleaned up. | |
