Minnesota | We needed to replace ours a couple of years ago. After doing some research we went with a GE top load, and I am very happy with it. We considered a front load HE; but factoring in the extra high purchase cost, the top load was a better financial decision in the long run. I've heard negative things from those that own the front loads: heavily soiled clothes don't get clean because not enough water is used, so they have to be washed again (how is THAT saving money?); also they are prone to molds if the door isn't left open between loads. The gasket around the front's door can be problematic and is quite expensive to replace. For those that have them and like them, that's fine; but for me the top load was a good decision. | |
