short weaning works good with green grass.
if you do long as they have some frame ( weighing 250 or more ), are used to going over to their own pasture and eating creep or out of a self feeder they don't miss a beat.
just shut the gate when they're over on their's.
also put out a couple probiotic tubs ( that are in their way ).
