Subject: need help with high speed system

southern Illinois
We finally got high speed dsl through our phone company. I hooked a linksys wireless N router up and it works great in the house but far from the 500+ ft that the sales person thought we d get out of the house with it. My question is I m 300 ft to my shop, whats the best way for me to get the high speed out there.
the lap top will work barely out there with the door open and near the door but not at all with it closed. Has any one used an antenna to jump the signal or can i lay a ethernet line out to the shop, i see you can buy a 1000 ft roll for 400dollars so 300ft would be affordable if it will work that long.

Just wanting to know what works for some of you so i dont waste time and money trying different things that dont work. thanks Harlan
