If you really want to change the look, as suggested, you can reface and order new doors and drawer fronts. I use a self adhesive laminate that has a 3m adhesive back that DOES NOT come off if you roll it down anywhere close to right. If it's done neatly, you can't tell the cabinets weren't replaced from the outside.
