| I have been diagnosed for two years now, I first got an attack and ended up in the hospital for 14 days out of 20, losing 40 pounds and learning a lot. We skipped some of the common treatments because it was so bad and I have been on Humira ever since. I have not had a flare since.
I got to a diagnosis relatively quick, but my flare was terrible and I almost died. By chance my brother has Crohn's too so they went that route quick and it was right.
One note here is I eat and drink about what I want, knowing some things won't last long in my system, so figure out what you can and can't eat once a treatment is established. It will take a while, but you will feel better.
In my case, I am the husband of a NP and we don't mess around with medical care. Get to a GOOD GI doc who deals with Crohn's on a regular basis. Also, don't screw with homeopathic cures, figure out what you can eat/drink but take your meds, this is no disease to screw with.
Good luck to you, will say a prayer for your comfort in dealing with this.
