Western Nebraska | Do you know how old they are? They might be broken mouth and you aren't going to get them fat. The other thing to consider is if they are producing a good calf and are able to rebreed then they probably don't need to be real fleshy. Unless you are in a real tough environment I would think real seriously about limiting the feeding of tubs. I know your stalks will weather more in eastern Nebraska than ours do out west of Scottsbluff, but you probably don't need that much protein and mineral. Talk to your extension beef specialist, not your general extension agent, and find out what you need to be doing. I don't know who that would be for your region, but the beef specialists will usually tell it to you straight about the need to supplement.
