Hillsboro, AL | I am working from memory here (not a good thing). FAT is a 16 bit system and FAT32 is 32 bit. FAT has a limitation as to how much memory it can address and I am sure it is less than 4 gig. I want to say that FAT is limited to 2 gig and it may even be lower than that. No a 4 gig card cannot be formatted in FAT. If you camera has to have FAT then it is limited to smaller cards.
