Wyobraska | Been busy the last few days. Its time to farm and cattle are keeping me busy. The new calves are doing well and starting to really come on feed. I found out that there is only going to be 50% of normal for irrigation water this year.
Closing pivot tracks on my south pivot in the A.M.
Went back in the afternoon to check cows calving and saw some smoke. As I got closer I was thinking humm that's close to the pivots. Turn on to the county road and I say damm that's the pasture south of the pivots. The fire burned right up to the property line. Right of the fence is my south pivot the last pivot I have to graze and where my cows are calving.
Working calves this A.M. I keep telling my help that this is the last time we are going to work calves this POS alleyway. Then more show up.
The calves waiting for their buddy's to get worked and join them.
A few tool's of the trade that was used today.
This calf was down in the truck. He has had a tough time, but eats everyday.
another shot of him
Calves enjoying a sweet probiotic treat after getting worked
There is some very nice saler calves in this bunch. The salers I have been around in the past were always wild and mean. These calves are mellow and doing very well. They caused no problems working them today.
All coming to the bunk for the ration
The BTO custom grinder in my area grinding a load to be delivered Grass hay, alfalfa and cattails blended.
