While on one of my train trips years ago, I remember overhearing a guy (in his twenties) how he struggled in school and dropped out with a learning disability: he said that attempting to read, by focusing in and recognizing the shape of the letters and words, the concentration in his mind made the words "pop off the page" and blowup to giant sized.
