Missouri | Larger than 2200: blue 48 cell specialty soybean plate
Smaller than 2200: standard black 60 cell soybean plate
Note that if you change to the 48 cell, you need to read a different transmission chart than the one you normally use with the 60 cell plate, and if you have hydraulic drive, you need to change your seed meter calibration number to 48.
2200-2400 is somewhat of an overlap range, where you may be able to use either.
Some people with seeds in the borderline range think the fact their present 60 cell plates are half worn will allow them to accommodate larger seed. This is a faulty assumption. The seed pockets are not actually enlarged, just the edges of the plate which grip the seeds have begun to wear away. This is, in fact, worse than a brand new plate.
