I have written a short blog post with pictures of the type of injury we might expect from the freezing temperatures of the past two nights. Please note that it generally takes 7 to 10 days for freeze injury to become visible, so checking fields over the next few days will be of little use. My prediction is that we will have some injury concentrated in healthier wheat in southern and central Oklahoma. It is impossible to accurately assess the extent of the damage at this point, but my best guess is that there will be several fields with injury but not too many total losses. I will check several fields late next week and report back.
The blog can be found at www.osuwheat.com or go directly to the article by clicking here The page might take a little longer to load because the pictures are large
