A big big plus growing seed beans is being able to harvest and sell beans at a higher moisture with no dock. Some companies will take them up to 14.5-15 % moisture. In fact they would rather the beans were in that range rather then bone dry. Beans under 11% moisture are much harder for them to handle and damage goes up quickly on dry beans especially if they are processing them when temps are very cold.
