I don't know much about Pima, but can tell you it's a very high quality, extra long staple cotton that is for a niche market and sells at a premium to upland. I think it's grown on relatively small acreages in Ca, Az, and west Tx. I'm sure you could search "Pima cotton production" and learn a lot more.
