Subject: RE: What would you charge your brother to do corn

Pilot Grove, Missouri
I combine about 275 Acres a year for my brother in law. I charge him $30 an acre just like I would anyone else. I do let him use my trucks free of charge for hauling (he supplies fuel for trucks). He is raising crops to make money, no reason you should lose money putting wear on equipment, to make him more money. If you can trade custom work for labor in return fine, but I suggest keeping track and settling up at least anually. This will prevent hard feelings in the long run. No question about who helped who more.
