I haven't tried it but will Avipel work? I am going to try some next year for corn to help with the geese doing the same thing. I think it's somewhat reasonable. SD has a pheasant labling. Probably just do the outside rounds as it's a planter box treatment.

And we do have a pheasant problem here. The neighbor lets 500 birds go every year. Now if that was cattle it would be illegal. For some reason with native birds that's ok. I have yet to figure out those guys and the wild life avenue.
