California/Oregon | We planted pioneer rr last year and it did very well. We planted early April. It sprouted quickly and grew vigorously even when going through a couple hard frosts early. We cut 3 cuttings at around 5 tons by middle of September. We applied roundup in May and it didn't affect the growth at all. BUT...it's spendy. However, we usually double drill our alfalfa at around 9-10 pounds per planting. Because of weather we only single drilled that field. The 9 pounds did great and we only overseeded on spots so we saved a little there. | |
