Leaf mid-veins of red oaks (pin, shumard, northern red, southern red, black-jack, etc) extend past the leaf margin. The leaf pictured is a red oak leaf....which species I can't tell from the pictures posted. On leaves of white oaks the leaf mid-veins do not extend past the leaf margins.
