Our compressor dealer does not recommend synthetic until the first oil change.  

We used it in one (before I learned this) and it took forever to get the rings seated.....lots of blowby out the crankcase vent.  

More recent ones we have ran dinosaur squeezin's for the first change interval and then changed to synthetic.
