Murfreesboro, Tennessee | I certainly understand.
I learned to pick cotton an a JD 299 picker, but since that time we have always had IH pickers or hired it picked by a friend with an IH picker. I love the job they do in general, but they seemed to just nickel and dime us all the time. never was a major breakdown, just something small all the time. Some of it was operator error, but some of it was the picker too.
We purchased a 2001 9976 picker this past year, and absolutely love it. Was looking at a 9986 but with the small acreage we have, and the drought, went the 9976 picker and have been really pleased. I may upgrade to a 9986 if we end up picking up additional cotton acreage.
If you decide to sell that 2055 let me know. Not sure, but I know of someone that is looking for a cheap IH picker. He was wanting a 2155, but he might consider a 2055.
Good luck this year.
