Subject: RE: Bagger rent and High moisture corn

S.C. Wisconsin
We usually bag about 15-22,000 bu a year in a 12 ft truck bagger. We use a Roto-mix hammer mill and after trying different methods we figured out that it was quickest to just blow the corn on a pile and load it into the bagger with an endloader. That way the hammer mill never has to shut down. Sure wish someone would build a mill with a combination roller mill with a hammer mill. No unbroken kernels and maybe less power to run it. The hammer mill takes all of 200 hp to run it. If the corn would be 30 percent of higher in moisture a roller mill does just fine.
