When do you "read" your bunk? Your cows should have about 3/4 of the feed eatin about four hours after you feed them. Do you feed twice a day? They go off feed because your over feeding them and causing stomach upset. Like you feel after thanksgiving. If the bunk is slick after four hours, give them just a pound more per head the next time. Then read the bunk the next day. If it's slick, raise it again. If there is feed left over, leave it the same. The weather will change things too but it's my experience that the cattle can predict the weather better than I can. Good Luck.
