Subject: Re: Vertical mixer wagons?

Nova Scotia
We had a Kuhn 5135 Vertical mixer for a while, Make all 4x4 rounds and it seemed to have no problem grinding up bales of any moisture. Dryer hay would take about 6-8 minutes to grind up while baleage would take 10-15 minutes, usually by the time I got it over to where it was going it would be ready, and it chopped up faster if there was 2 bales in it rather than just 1.
It did a fantastic job of chopping up the bales and mixing up a consistent ration. The only problem I did notice was that the odd time the baleage would wrap around the auger and it was a real pain to untangle, we mentioned it to the dealer and they found a set of knives that were better suited for our moisture levels, problem solved.
