E.Central MN | I agree that they could have used more discretion, probably would have been less suspicious if the mother had taken the child in to her regular doctor. But if the parents were abusing their children and took them to different doctors every time, they might be able to get away with child endangerment for a long time. One report in a file won't generate a lot of interest, but you don't get multiple reports if the first ones aren't documented either. Maybe it was (as you suggested), a type of injury that is more common in cases where kids are abused rather than an injury that is just a normal childhood accident. Trying to take the child out of there against their orders was not likely to lessen their fears that it was abuse. Put yourself in their shoes. | |
