Central Texas

Have Priefert SO4 and really like it. Work 200# calves up to grown cows. Really like the easy bottom width adjustment. Easy to narrow down for the peewees and widen up for large calves and cows. Like the headgate also. Works well for all sizes including horned cows with no adjusting. Also like the split tailgate not nearly as tiresome as the rope pull tailgates.

Used to have a powder river chute that has a headgate like the big valley. Would never go back to that type headgate. If you want a major headache, set the headgate a little too large where the shoulders get thru and catch the hips instead. BTDT. This is not an issue with the Priefert headgate. BV headgate can also a nightmare for horned cattle.

Before buying my current chute went to several farm shows and have looked at many of the manual chutes. Like the Priefert the best. Did not make the decision lightly.

Just another 2 cents worth.
