Don't really see any advantage to pull the calfs tongue...;) sorry I had too. I'd think most all calves will have their tongue out during birth. I'd be concerned if it was very red,swollen ,dry. The dryer things are the more prolonged the birthing. If its a heifer give her an hour after feet start to show and a cow maybe a bit less time before going to help. Once you see a head/tongue it should be only minutes. 4% death loss till weaning.
