My uncle who is a retired vetrinarian gave my father inlaw and wife this advice, when our dogs were fed chicken bones at a birthday party.  "Don't you think that if chicken bones were harmful to dogs, that the we would be short of dogs?  Chickens are pretty easy pickens for a canine and they have been chasing and eating them since BC."
