WY, OK
Think bud boxes are great, too bad we built everything before finding out how well they work. Tried working one into a new load out and isn't going to work with what we have. I'd think a bud box into a 2 into 1 (with no backs) to a self catch would be great for 1 person. Second would be a tub with curved alley into a self catch. Our first tub/curved alley was all built out of wood, would never go back to it but if trying to save money it works. Of course a bud box also only works if the user will use it correctly, will probably need to physically watch experienced people use one then try it yourself. IF all you are doing is vaccinating you really only need a crash gate to fill the alley and walk down it treating every cow. You'll need one behind your self catch anyway to let the vet in or stop the rest of the cows from pushing up against the caught cow too much. You can spend the money on a palp cage or just put a door in the alley that shuts it off and be done.

Bad thing about using wood is the size for both cows and calves, big enough for cows and the calves will turn back in it. Filling your alley with pallets works for that but gets old in a hurry.
