Only downside is cost and maintenance. Need xp pro on clients and extra cost for server software ie. antivirus and backup. There are other ways to remote in if that is one of the main reasons for this. At home I'm using Windows Home Server which backs-up all my computers and allows for remote access. Pretty easy to configure and a lot cheaper than MS 2003 Server.
