My dad passed about a year ago.
He always asked me if I could cut his nails , since he could not do it himself.
I hated it. told him the lights are to dim, needed my reading glasses.
He must have hated my complaining.
He went to a nail shop. Mostly Asian type people.
I did not mind taking him to this place.
To me I thought this place was "interesting"
There was a "Buda" figure behind the front door
with a plate of oranges in front of him. 
Didn't ask, just waited till dads feet were done.
He enjoyed having it done, I enjoyed not having to do it.
