I've been on DISH all the while.
Salesman that sells both wanted me to switch to Direct, but after further review realized that DISH was better for me.
They make their money selling those new 2 year contracts. And the contract price in 2 years offset the earlier promotional savings.
DirectTV Genie made it exactly one month.
