I don't know what to say then. It seems to work for me, and has often done so in the past. I've been able to change sheet names, range names, file names and whatever inside cell formulas.

I'm including a sequence showing I was able to change some cells but not others doing a replace all. Let me know if this depicts what you were trying to accomplish.

Oh yes, don't worry about inserting rows and columns when you have absolute references in your formulas. Excel will still adjust the references to follow the data. The absoluter versus relative thing is only there for while you are copying formulas.
