Eastern Iowa | My zip code has started the long slog toward summer. January 30 was the first day that historical daily high and night time lows were both higher on average than the day before. Something to keep me going while it is -7 F for chores this morning.
You can check your "dead of winter" date by plugging your zip code in at the following link: Set the date and clicking on the month name below the chart that shows your lowest average temperatures, in my case, January. That brings up a chart of daily averages. Which day is the day where the weather turns around in your area?
