north-central Indiana west of Fulton | Worst winter for snow in my lifetime was 1978. I still remember Jan. 20,1978 I was a mile and one half from home at another farm feeding and bedding some heifers, when a 600 lb heifer flopped over on my leg. When I got off the manure pack, quickly realized both bones below knee were broken. Hopped out of pen, climbed over fence and drove truck up to aunt's house on the farm. Dad came and took me to hospital 15 miles away ,but they sent me 45 miles away to set it. On Jan.25 ,mom and dad were taking me home and it was snowing like crazy ,lucky to get home. It snowed or blew for days and closed everything. County had to dip roads out with payloaders. I watched from house as dad dipped the drive out with our over matched loader. Every time had some wind ,do it all again.
