dont you think that would have more of an effect on local basis instead of actual cbot price? if they say a record crop is coming and we are really looking to get it meanwhile nobody is selling... commercials know we cant sit on it for too long... while the price of corn drops they would probably have a lower basis as well as they know the corn is coming.... sometime.
