You need to do some research as to why SS was ever started.
It had a purpose when it was started during the Great Depression. It was to keep older people out of poverty.
Somewhere along the way people got the notion that it was a retirement plan. That is what is bankrupting SS.
Did you take any history classes in school at all? If you did what did it cover?
So you are saying it was ok to keep them out of poverty and make us pay for them today? We are robbing peter to pay paul here. My SS payroll tax taken from my check is being used for other people, not for when I retire. Now my generation will retire, paying into ss their entire life, and will recieve nothing.
