Watonwan County MN | Have run a 499 for quite a few years now. Absolutely love it for alfalfa/orchard grass. It doesnt like straight grass hay that much as it doesnt flow thru the crimper that well. The standard over serrated sickle is what I run, but have seen the SCH on a couple of machines. I have never seen any other drive than the standard NH wobble box. The only thing Id even bother to look at is the crimper rollers. If they are shot, so is the rest of the machine. If they are in good shape, the rest is just standard wear items that can be replaced pretty easily. | |
