You can run it backwards to spread out windrows, if you do not have a hay tedder. Less moving parts- no universals or telescoping shafts. Less seals to leak oil if they have a good seal protector on the motors seal. We often had problems with the seal leaking on the input shaft of the gearbox, the hay that wrapped on the universals never did that seal much good..
