I would think you could do whatever you want-but realize when you rent out you lose control of how you want things done-theres a better return owning the cows,could you maybe partner up with a young cow guy that wants to expand-be a win-win for both of you,someday the grain thing will change and you will be glad to have the cows,you could perhaps also feed out the calf crop and buy the other guys calves to?
